Gemfest is an annual event organised by the Caboolture Gem Club, Inc, at the Caboolture Historical Village. This festival celebrates the folk who create jewellery and share ideas about the art of working with gems, and creating jewellery and other items with the gems and silver.
The
Gem Club is a busy club within the Village where members come to learn the various aspects of creating with these stones. Classes? The best thing is to become a member of the Club, and then attend their low cost workshops.
Gemfest will be held on Saturday July 11th, at the Village at 280 Beerburrum Road, Caboolture from 9 am to 4 pm. Entry to the Village and Gemfest will be $5 and children under 16 years of age will be free.
There will be raffles, jewellery sales, displays, demonstrations and tailgaters. Children will be able to fossick for stones and there are also other activities to keep the children occupied.
If you are interested in lapidary, this is the place to be on July 11th, for it will be a fun filled and educational event. Food and refreshments will be available.
The Club holds regular workshops for members – details at their
website . Recently at the Caboolture Show, members were extremely successful in the competitions and you can be sure that the Club members will be keen to talk about their success!
