I admire entrepreneurs who can think outside the box, who can turn their hand to anything, offering diverse solutions and interesting outcomes on more than one level. Grant Hiscock started his enterprise as an Interior Consulting showroom, where he is happy to discuss and explore interior design solutions with his clients. He has offices in a warehouse in the West End and this is where the fun starts.

The space is large and roomy and offers itself to other possibilities apart from interior décor and this is where Grant has made a success of Gem'Appelle Designs, which has been around since 1999.

It acts as a hub for creativity with rooms for graphic designers, artists and others wanting a small showroom to exhibit their wares or their art and it doesn't stop there. These are the displays, artwork and bespoke furniture, which are permanent, and in between, events, tastings and workshops are scheduled that give this place an energy and a purpose way bigger than the warehouse it is housed in.

Grant is happy to rent out the space for special events and parties, for product launches and photographic workshops and a lot more. It is a good idea to keep up with their Facebook page page as events and happenings are often posted there.

Once a month, they host boutique wineries from the Granite Belt like Symphony Hill, Avertine,Twisted Gum to name a few. One I like very much is Bent Road, which has also been showcased.

So on Tuesday the 8th of December 2015 at 7 00pm I am going along to a wine tasting there and the winery on show will be Jester Hill.

If you fancy tasting, listening to the experts giving you a couple of tips about the wine and how to drink it then come along and enjoy the evening. There are nibbles included in the price of your ticket and often the wines are on sale at attractive prices.

Tickets are limited to 30 for each wine tasting. Click HERE to buy your tickets for this wine tasting and enjoy the creative space and interesting company.

Single Adult $25.00 or Couple Ticket $40.00 (admits two).
