I am foodie as well as a tech head who loves to talk about the greater aspects of all things that should be public. I am more about the good than the bad and ugly and I thought it was time to go public with what I deem to be sensational.

Around the corner from Jimmy Grants Souvlaki is Messina Ice Cream. If you have any room left or simply just want great ice cream, it is a must stop. I am not sure if they are the same owners but the guys from JG's directed us to Messina's .
When you walk in, the first thing you notice is that all the ice cream is made on site, it also shows in the final product. I must have tried about 5 different ice creams before settling on the nougat flavour. What was surprising was that the nuts were fresh and crisp.
I could not fault any of the flavours in anything I tried. My partner got the vanilla flavour, which is always a staple choice and the best benchmark to work up from. The perfect balance of sweetness and tummy warming vanilla. You should have seen the face of my kids.
All smooth, creamy and delicious, the décor was interesting with stories to tell in the artwork like wallpaper which added to the overall atmosphere.
The staff were very friendly and helpful; special shout out to Meltem who spent time explaining all the flavours and process of what is what.
Topped off with an exceptional coffee, it was a great way to grab a nice quality ice cream. I am very picky with coffee and it was refreshing to see an establishment pay attention to their coffee as well as their main product.
I guess there is little forgiveness in any food nowadays in Melbourne and Messina lives up to those standards
