When you're planning a wedding, there is so much to consider. Not only do you have to work out a budget, ceremony location, date and celebrant, but you have to consider who you want in your bridal party, who you want to attend the reception, where the reception will be and how it will be catered. You have to decide who will cater it, who will do hair, makeup, and photography, what kind of cars you would like as transport, and whether you would like a band or a DJ as your entertainment. These are only a few of the many choices that will have to be made as the big day approaches, and it can be a daunting task for those who have only just gotten engaged and have to start planning it all.
Luckily, there are events run, such as the Geelong Wedding & Event Expo, which can help to make some of the difficult decisions a little bit easier. To be held on Sunday August 16 at the Geelong Arena, this is regional Victoria's biggest wedding expo, and is well-worth a visit if you want to start the planning process. All brides-to-be will receive a goodie bag on entry which contains over $500 worth of vouchers (including a $200 voucher from Geelong's popular Embrace Bridal Boutique).
Tickets to the event are $12 at the door, or you can pre-book online and pay $10 per person instead. However, to avoid disappointment, potential visitors are encouraged to pre-book- not only are you then guaranteed entry into the event without having to wait in a long queue, but you will also have the added incentive of entry into a competition where you could win a reception styling package or a Hens Party 'Party Starter Pack'. Entry times are staggered every half hour from 10.30am to 2pm, so that visitors can easily browse the stalls and not have to worry too much about crowding or long lines.
Planning can be a daunting task
As well as representatives from over fifty wedding-related exhibitors (photography, gowns, catering, entertainment, transport, celebrants, floristry and much more), there will be a stall held by well-known Frankston bridal house Sunset Bridal, who will have selected gowns on sale on the day.
The event will be held at the Geelong Arena
This promises to be a fantastic and informative event for all brides-to-be, their wedding parties and those involved in the planning of that special day, and should not be missed.
