I write for Weekend Notes and I take photographs, usually sunsets and sunrises. Occasionally I include my photos in my articles. I like to promote Geelong, and activities around Geelong.

Geelong Waterfront - Fun and Food

Geelong Waterfront is a beautiful place to come and visit. The Geelong City Council has done a lot of work in beautifying the waterfront. There are many things to see and do, and you can come and visit for a day, a weekend or even come and stay for a week or two.

I visited the Geelong Waterfront last weekend. I caught up with a friend and we spent the day looking at the waterfront through camera lenses. Wait til you see some of the photos that we took.

We met at the Wharfshed Cafe and had a bite to eat and a drink. The Wharfshed has a great menu and will prepare meals from 9.00am til late.

While we were sitting at the Wharfshed Cafe, there were people enjoying helicopter flights and we watched people take off on a cruise around the bay in a boat called Freedom from Freedom Bay Cruises.

We ate a nice entree then moved on to do some photography. My friend loaned me his spare digital camera and I got to work photographing some of the great things to see and do along the waterfront.

We walked past the carousel, which is housed in a modern building. The carousel horses have all been restored.

We walked past the Cunningham Pier with it's beautiful wooden entrance.

There are a few restaurants situated on the pier. I watched as groups of people sat along the pier casting their rods out to catch fish. One fisherman caught a rod (that somebody else had accidentally dropped into the water) and the dropped rod had a fish on the line.

I hope you enjoyed a little taste of the Geelong waterfront. Please watch Weekend Notes for more information on what to see and do in Geelong.
