Around an hour from Melbourne city you will find the Geelong waterfront - a gathering place for many and full of things to look at and do on the north facing shores of Corio Bay in Geelong, Australia.
There are seafood restaurants, The Royal Geelong Yacht Cub run awesome events, a Large Carousel for the kids, The Big Wheel (open during warmer months) and plenty of sculptures to look at. Places to buy refreshments and expanses of green lawn to sit down and stretch out whilst watching the comings and goings.
Down on the beach there is an area dedicated to beach volleyball. Up on the paths you can ride your bikes (and children their scooters) or go for a long jog along the waterfront on a nice warm day.
Situated not far from Geelong town centre you can spend the morning relaxing near the water and head into the CBD for a meal or drink and some shopping.
