I write for Weekend Notes and I take photographs, usually sunsets and sunrises. Occasionally I include my photos in my articles. I like to promote Geelong, and activities around Geelong.
Get on your bike or motorcycle and head to Geelong this year for the 23rd Annual Geelong Toy Run. The Toy Run will be held on Sunday 13th December to raise much needed money for local children's charities, including Cottage by the Sea, Bethany, The Sanctuary and the Geelong Hospital.
The annual toy run this year will leave Deakin University Waterfront campus at 10.00am, with the assistance of Deakin University, the police and the Geelong City Council. Festivities will finish at about 3.00pm at Queenscliffe. Collectables will be on sale on the day.
Meet at Deakin University City (Waterfront) Campus Carpark at the Corner of Cavendish St & Western Beach Rd, Geelong. (Entry off Gheringhap St)
The big Geelong Toy Run is a huge event that usually has more than 1,000 bikes there. It should be a wonderful day. Come along to the starting point and donate toys or non-perishable food or a gold coin donation. Or watch out for the riders along the highway to Queenscliffe and donate toys as the riders pass.
There is usually a band, barbecue, raffles and lots of bikes to admire at the finishing point in Queenscliffe. The event is organised by the Geelong Harley Owners Group, and Geelong Harley Davidson. All bikes are welcome.
