Geelong Sculptors Inc. are presenting their annual member's exhibition at Deakin Waterfront. The exhibition is titled "Clippers By The Bay" - which is inspired by the history of the wool stores of Geelong. The location of the Exhibition Gallery, overlooking Corio Bay is also in line with the theme of "Clippers By The Bay".
The Exhibition Gallery is in the Sally Walker Building at Deakin Waterfront. There are 77 pieces of artwork on display including artwork by local artists, including Mardi Nicholls, Bianca Clipperton, Jacinta Leitch, Carolyn McKinnon, Maggie Jean, Sue Corbet and Christine Bouma. You will be able to view sculpted sheep, boats and other items that celebrate the Bay Life.
Deakin Waterfront is located on the waterfront of Geelong, overlooking Transvaal Square, the Carousel, and Cunningham Pier. For street directions, Deakin Waterfront is on the Corner of Cunningham Street and Western Beach Road, Geelong.
The opening night was THURSDAY October 1st. 6.00pm to 8.00pm. If you didn't make it there for opening night, the exhibition runs right through October. I hope you can make it there. I'll be heading off there myself to see some of the great artwork on display. Let me know what you thought of the exhibition and include a photo of some of the great work that you saw.
