I write for Weekend Notes and I take photographs, usually sunsets and sunrises. Occasionally I include my photos in my articles. I like to promote Geelong, and activities around Geelong.

School Holidays in Geelong

This is a list of links. I have written a few articles myself about what's on in Geelong, and where to go with the children when they say they're bored. I am also going to provide some links to other Weekend Notes authors, as their articles also provide interesting things to see and do during the busy month of April 2014.

It's almost the end of Term One 2014. There is a lot happening in April with School Holidays, the Easter Weekend and Anzac Day all occurring within this month.

So many opportunities for families to be involved in lots of fun activities. In this article I aim to highlight some school holiday activities, some fun things to do in Geelong during Easter, and some links to things to do on Anzac Day.

School holidays for Victoria are from Friday April 4th to Sunday April 20th. A lot of the activities outlined are cheap and affordable. You don't have to pay a lot of money to entertain the children. Go for a drive, take a walk along a nature trail, buy some fish and chips and sit at the beach. Geelong has some great ocean beaches.

Lucy Graham has written a great article on family activities in Barwon Heads, Geelong, aimed at teenagers.

Julie Mundy, in her article Adventure Parks Melbourne, mentions our own Adventure Park, Geelong.

Nicholas, also a Weekend Notes author, does our Adventure Park proud in his article. Adventure Park Geelong does have an entrance fee, however if you take a picnic lunch that makes it affordable. And you can stay at Adventure Park Geelong for the whole day.

You could visit Jirrahlinga Koala and Wildlife Sanctuary. It is in Barwon Heads. Come down and meet some Australian wildlife. My article on Jirrahlinga Koala and Wildlife Sanctuary is here.

Chris Shepherdson also wrote a great article about the Jirrahlinga Koala and Wildlife Sanctuary. His article mentions the sobbing cockatoo.

Easter occurs from Friday April 18th - Good Friday to Monday 21st April. Easter Sunday is April 20th.

Nicholas, one of the authors of Weekend Notes, outlines some Easter Holiday attractions.

Anzac Day, April 25th
Anzac Day, April 25th

Anzac Day is Friday April 25th. This article is written by Girlie Diaz, and has lots of ideas on how to celebrate Anzac Day. It also has some great links to web sites that will give you some ideas on what you can do to support our Returned Soldiers and their families.

This is not a complete list of things to do and see in Geelong, however I have tried to include a few different ideas of what to do and see. Please leave me a comment if you tried an activity and found it an enjoyable or interesting experience.

For further details of what to do and see in Geelong during the school holidays, Easter and Anzac Day go to this site. The What's On website and free magazine (pick it up at the Tourist Information Kiosks) outlines lots of fun things to see and do in Geelong and the surrounding area.
