The Festival brings over 800 classic cars and motorcycles to Geelong, where they will be on display at the Geelong Waterfront for the weekend of the 27th November to the 29th November. Vintage cars, classic boats and aeroplanes feature in this weekend of motoring.
Come down to the Geelong Waterfront to watch sprint racing (cars, not people), see the motorshow, see fashion, exhibitions, entertainment, markets, listen to live music and much more over the three days of the Geelong Revival Motoring Festival.
There is free entry and free children's entertainment, as well as movies on the big screen. This weekend promises to be huge, as Australia's largest classic and historic motoring event drives the entertainment levels high.
The theme for the 2015 Geelong Revival Motoring Festival is Wheels, Wings and Water. This year the Festival takes to the sea and the sky for the first time, with classic motorboats and vintage fly overs.
The historic quarter-mile sprints will be run along Ritchie Boulevard. You can watch from the Hill overlooking the pits and races, or you can buy a ticket to the Pits. In the Pits you can view the cars and motorbikes up close. Once you've had your fill of the quarter-mile races, you can walk along the Waterfront to look at the motorbikes, vintage fashion on the field, the vintage caravan display, live music and the classic and vintage vehicles on display.
There will be food trucks along the Waterfront. Saturday night there is a movie showing on the big screen at the Waterfront. Geelong is the home of the Australian National Sprint racing.
The Friday Night Cruise kicks off the weekend of celebrations. Last year over 500 vehicles joined the cruise. These included vintage cars, trucks and motorbikes. This year Geelong Revival anticipate that up to 600 vehicles will join the cruise, with an expanded route, to make the cruise an even greater event.
To join the Cruise, meet at the Geelong Museum of Motoring and Industries at 13 to 35 Mackey Street, North Geelong at 5.00pm. You can visit the Museum of Motoring for $5.00. Departure time is at 7.00pm, and the cavalcade will arrive at Deakin Waterfront car park at 8.00pm. Gold coin donation for the Cruise. The cruise takes in spectacular views of the Barrabool Hills, the Barwon River and more. Entry into the cruise is a gold coin donation to the Geelong Museum of Motoring and Industry.
