Gardeners can be a very meticulous bunch, especially when it comes to procuring and maintaining the perfect cutting for their botanical landscapes. There are hundreds of garden clubs all over Australia and the world, with members invested in one common interest- making their garden look the best it possibly can, considering the climate, soil type and other such variables. Whether they live in a tropical area, or endure long dry seasons, members of these clubs nurture their gardens with the same attention they'd give to a small child- they give them all the love and support that they need to flourish and grow.
As can be expected, there are also offshoots from these base garden clubs, with some people choosing to specialise in a particular flower genus that they prefer more so than some of the other species available. Some people prefer to cultivate elegant rose gardens, some favour the miniature world of bonsais, and some are happy to withstand the prickles of cacti.
On Saturday 28 June and Sunday 29 June, 2014, lovers of orchids will have the chance to enjoy the delicate features of this exotic flower at the Geelong Orchid Show. To be held at Christ Church Hall, on the corner of Moorabool and McKillop Streets in Geelong, the event will pay homage to all types of orchids, with visitors invited to attend between 10am and 4pm. There will be plenty of orchids on display, and members from the Geelong Orchid & Indoor Plant Club Inc. (who are hosting the event) will be there to provide any advice you may need regarding the growth and cultivation of this popular flower.
Orchids of all colours will be on display at the event
