The are held on Friday nights in January and February in picturesque Johnstone Park, central Geelong. A popular alternative with locals for after work drinks and with families for the free entertainment on offer, the cater for every taste.

At the hawker style food stalls options as diverse as Nepalese dumplings, Turkish gozleme and Spanish churros are on offer along with the standard market fare.

Speciality food producers also sell their wares so if you fancy some locally grown olives, a box of fancy cupcakes or a bottle of wine from the nearby Bellarine Peninsula to take home the is the place to shop.

The market prides itself on its unique mix of stalls. Buy clothing by a local designer, a unique piece of handmade jewellery or, for the more adventurous, get your fortune told by a tarot card reader.

There is also a licensed area selling beers and wines but for those with more exotic tastes a glass of spicy, orange spiked Sangria might be more to your liking.

Free entertainment includes live music all evening, roving entertainers and face painting for the kids.

So pack a picnic rug, grab a spot on the hill and listen to some great live music while sipping on a beverage, tucking into some scrumptious cuisine and pondering your fortune for 2013.
