Geelong Gallery's upcoming exhibition, Abstraction: celebrating Australian women abstract artists, runs from Saturday 25 February - Sunday 7 May.

Abstraction draws from the extensive collection of the National Gallery of Australia, Canberra, to showcase the astounding contribution women artists have made to the development of abstract art in Australia.

Featuring 76 works by 38 significant Australian artists spanning almost a century, this exhibition of paintings, prints, drawings, sculptures and ceramics reveals a dedication to risk-taking, experimentation and ingenious innovation that deserves greater recognition.

There will also be a special guided tour for International Women's Day on Wednesday 8 March at 2.00pm and an In Conversation with Kaz Paton, Melinda Harper and Lisa Sullivan from 5.00pm.
