Geelong After Dark 2016 coincides with Mountain to Mouth to create extreme art.
Every 2nd year Geelong After Dark forms part of the Mountain to Mouth Extreme Arts Walk, welcoming the walkers into Central Geelong for the second ceremony of Mountain to Mouth.
Moutain to Mouth will perform three ceremonies during the Mountain to Mouth walk. There is the "Gathering of the Elders" which starts the proceedings at the You Yangs Regional Park. Then the 2nd ceremony "Gathering of the City: Geelong Connected Communities" is performed in Central Geelong from 8.20pm to 8.40pm. The final ceremony is "Gathering of the Elements" which will be performed at Barwon Heads at the end of the Mountain to Mouth Walk.
At the midpoint of the Mountain to Mouth 2016 (extreme walk), dancers will emerge from the darkness at Steampacket Gardens, as Canoe and its entourage of flag bearers and walkers arrive from their journey from the You Yangs.
Dancers, made up of dance groups from across Geelong, will weave like threads through the central artwork, gathering the people of the city together.
The "Gathering of the City: Geelong Connected Communities" ceremony will take place at Steampacket Gardens / Eastern Beach Road from 8.20pm to 8.40pm.
