I like to participate in life rather than be a spectator. Music, dancing, theatre, travelling, food, cycling and walking are some of my passions. Writing is an enjoyable pastime that allows me to share my experiences.
Located in the Macquarie Street Gatehouse of Parramatta Park, the Tea Rooms are a lovely place to meet up with friends. The historic colonial building dates from 1887 and has had UNESCO World Heritage listing since 2007. They are a hygienic COVID -19 safe venue, so checking in is necessary as are bookings and there is plenty of room between tables.
The menu contains the usual offerings of tea, coffee, breakfast items and cakes. The high teas are from $44 per person and they have a children's high tea for $24 per serve. Gluten-free, dairy-free and vegetarian options are available for an extra cost. Alcoholic beverages such as beer, wine and bubbly are available as are a range of teas, coffee, soft drinks and milkshakes. The delicious vegetarian muffin is made onsite and is excellent value at $5, served with a small side salad.
