A friend of mine and I stumbled upon this gorgeous park while hunting for my wedding venue.

If you're interested in photography this place has so many great locations to get snap happy.

From the deep blue, endless stretch of river, dotted with marsh reeds and bird life from the wetlands the City of Belmont are working so hard to preserve, to the little grottos with gnarled gumtrees creating great other worldly hideaways.



Take your bike and the kids, go for a ride or just stroll along the riverbank. Talk to the people fishing off the jetty or just sit in the shade of the trees and read a good book. We even saw people swimming and a rather vigorous game of soccer.

With plenty of space to spread out, it doesn't feel crowded and so many areas to explore means the day is filled with fun and adventure.

When the kids are done and you're ready for a coffee, head over to the cute little kiosk that looks out over the river and the rest of the park. Their toasted sandwiches are amazing!

Coffee in the Park
Located close to the playground, the kiosk is the perfect stop off for a coffee when taking the kids on an outing. Check the website above for more information on times and services.

Ramble Walk
A two kilometre walk around the park. It spans from Tibradden Circle in Ascot, then around finishing at Fauntleroy Avenue.


If you're feeling energetic you could try the seven kilometre walk from Tibradden Circle all the way across to Garrett Road Bridge, Maylands and back via Tonkin Highway and the northern river banks. Or a twelve kilometre bike ride sounds even better!

is also the annual location of the Autumn River Festival and the City of Belmont Avon Descent Community Day.
