The community spirit, generosity and goodwill of the members and like minded folk in Maleny and surrounding districts once again will allow the Maleny Garden Club to hold its 12th consecutive Gardening on the Edge event on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 June.
There will be six gardens open to the public, 5 are acreage with views of the surrounding Glass House Mountains and valleys looking toward Montville and Mapleton, while the smaller garden shows what can be done on 1,000m2.
There will be a Garden Market at the Maleny Showgrounds with experts selling and giving advice on how to successfully grow orchids, camellias, understory plants, heritage roses and rare plants as well as the Garden Club stall with plants potted up by the members for sale. Art and craft will also be available, with the Maleny Hospital Auxiliary providing morning/afternoon teas with hot nourishing soup for those who need a little more strength to last the day.
The gardens and show ground pavilion will open from 9.00am both days and close at 4.00pm.
Admission is $20.00 to all six gardens and admission to the Garden Market is free.
All proceeds are donated back to the community, last year this included SES, Ambulance, Blackall Range Care, Fire Brigade and Chaplaincies to both Maleny and Conondale.
