Recycling is a big buzz word in our lives today. I have been a keen recycler as long as I can remember but on a recent visit to a friend who has a large garden that was badly affected by the drought, I was very amused and interested to see how she had taken recycling to another level.

She picks up these items from both garage sales and secondhand shops. Most of them would eventually end up in landfill as people do not buy or use these any more.

I was especially intrigued with her arch way. That is an idea can be developed in many ways.

I personally have repurposed many plates and shallow casseroles of all sorts as pot plant saucers. During the drought, one cannot afford to let water from pot plants just soak into the ground.
