Handy hints for your home and garden at this Expo
The Lions Club of Drouin is staging the 17th Annual Garden and Home Expo at Lardner Park. Every year on the second weekend in October, Lardner Park comes alive with thousands of people going to this Garden & Home Expo. This annual event is the second largest of its kind in Victoria, with around 6,000 people attending every year.

This year, the expo will be held on the 13th and 14th October 2018. You will enjoy a huge range of exhibitors, displays, activities and entertainment. There will be about 150 displays and sales, including 40 specialist and general nurseries, exhibitors, and demonstrations throughout the day.

Guest gardening experts will be on the stage on both days to educate, help and enlighten you.

The expo is held in 3 large pavilions and surrounding areas. If you are at all interested in plants or gardens, then this is the place to be for this weekend! Gardening can be such a relaxing pastime and having interesting plants can give your garden a whole new dimension. Also at these fairs, there are usually several innovative ideas that can be of great relevance to completing your garden or completing a section of it.

This is a family event and there will also be free children`s activities, as well as a good range of food and plenty of parking.

Some of the things on display will be:
Landscaping
Permaculture
Tanks and water saving devices
Gardening tools
Gardening machinery
Shade and hot houses
Statues and garden features
Interior and exterior furnishings
Indoor and outdoor furniture
Home finance
Tradespeople
Building products
Windows and doors
Spas and pools
Children's activities including free potting
First class orchid display

Entry cost for the expo will be $10.00, with children under 16 being free. There are EFTPOS facilities available once you are inside the expo.

All the proceeds collected from this expo will be donated by Drouin Lions Club back into the community.

The special guest star on the stage this year will be the lovely Melissa King, who is also a garden guru. Melissa is a very popular garden expert and television presenter.

She was on the ABC's Gardening Australia for some four years and then moved to Channel 7 in order to host the Melbourne Weekender Garden program.

Melissa loves gardens, food and travel and was also a host on the travel series, Gurus Explore which is a makeover series. She has also appeared on several other television and Foxtel shows.

Currently, Melissa is in the television series, The Garden Gurus on Channel 9.

Melissa has also launched her own range of lovely roses under the name "King in the Garden". This project helps to raise money for Motor Neurone Disease Research.

Melissa will be on the stage on both the Saturday and the Sunday of this year's expo.

Please put this date into your diary as you do not want to miss this one! It will be held, as usual at Lardner Park, via Warragul, between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm.
