Melbourne & Victoria is blooming with these events
Whether you are a green thumb or just simply enjoy gardens there is a Garden & Flower festival, show or/and event just for you!
Below is the list for all Garden & Flower events around Melbourne and Victoria that are both free and ticketed:
1. Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show
When: 25- 29 March 2015: 9am-5pm Where: Royal Exhibition Building & Carlton Gardens South, 9 Nicholson St, Carlton Cost: Adults: $27, Concession: $22, Children (6-12 years): $10, Family (2 adults 2 children): $60 & kids under 5 years free. Details: This event is returning for another year with an explosion of colour and design and after 19 years still remains the biggest annual flower and garden show in the Southern Hemisphere! There will be a show of floral and landscape designs, stunning displays, extensive array of garden and floral products, rare and unusual plants, gardening tools, outdoor furniture, innovative ideas, food and entertainment for the whole family. 2. Garden State Cocktail Reception When: 27 March 2015 Where: Carlton Gardens, 1-111 Carlton St, Carlton
Cost: Tickets: $120pp Details: Set amongst the floral displays and gardens of the Melbourne Flower and Garden Show, the Garden State Cocktail Reception is an unique event to experience for garden lovers. There will be show gardens without the crowds and meet some of Australia's best garden designers. There will also be a silent auction with proceeds from the auction going to the Murdoch Children's Research Institute.
3. Tesselaar Gardening & Plants Expo When: 18-19 April 2015
Where: Tesselaar Gardens, 357 Monbulk Rd, Silvan
Cost: Adults: $16pp & Concession: $13pp - children under 18 free.
Details: This is a must do on your event calender. Whether you are planting, maintaining or planning your garden, there is something for everyone. There will be a huge range of plants on offer. Dogs are welcome and there is free parking available. Click here for website.
4. Como Gardens Open Garden Weekend
When: 18-19 April 2015: 10am-4:30pm
Where: Como Gardens, 79 Basin-Olinda Rd, The Basin
Cost: $ 7.50 pp entry fee and children under 14 free.
Details: Enjoy the wonderful world of plants, displays and activities on offer. The event was established in 1873 and is still going! With many uncommon and rare plants collections, horticultural ferns, orchids, book stalls and food stalls. 5. 17th Winter Miracles Orchid Show
When: 18- 19 July 2015: 9:30am-4pm
Where: B & T Ferns & Orchids, 30 Wiseman Rd, Silvan
Cost: Free entry
Details: This Orchid Show will feature a variety of Orchids grown by orchid enthusiasts from clubs located in Victoria. There will be orchids and plants collectables to purchase, including native and exotic orchids, clivias, ferns, bromeliads, and plant collectables. There will be refreshments available to purchase. 6. Camellia & Garden Show
When: 15- 16 August 2015
Where: Mount Waverley Community Centre Complex, 47 Miller Crescent, Mount Waverley
Cost: Tickets $5pp
Details: Marking its 44th year this year the Camellia & Garden show will showcase hundreds of varieties of Camellias. The show will also feature the Victorian Camellia Championships, as well as Floral Art Winter & General Garden Exhibits Championships. 8. Tesselaar Tulip Festival
When: 10 September 2015- 6 October 2015
Where: Tesselaar Tulip Farm, 357 Monbulk Rd, Silvan

Details: This festival is an unique annual event for the whole family to enjoy. The Festival will showcase the breathtaking beauty of over one million spring flowers in bloom, including over 500, 000 tulips and 100 different varieties.
