Sit back and enjoy the garden
Whenever I visit Queenscliff for the weekend, I love jumping off the main street and wandering down the leafy side streets to this little café. The voyeur in me feels like I'm entering into someone's backyard.
There's a lovely little veggie patch and an outdoors eating area under the shade of several trees, which in the middle of summer is a welcome relief. Inside there are lots of seating areas and big bay windows in which to gaze at the flowering garden.
Lovely floors and garden benches at the Garden Cafe
This time around I had the scones special with fresh cream and home-made jam. Now I can't make scones to save myself, but I do appreciate when they are well made. These were fresh out of the oven, soft and delicious and I had to share which I didn't enjoy – sharing that is.
