Sit back and enjoy the garden
Whenever I visit Queenscliff for the weekend, I love jumping off the main street and wandering down the leafy side streets to this little café. The voyeur in me feels like I'm entering into someone's backyard.

There's a lovely little veggie patch and an outdoors eating area under the shade of several trees, which in the middle of summer is a welcome relief. Inside there are lots of seating areas and big bay windows in which to gaze at the flowering garden.

This time around I had the scones special with fresh cream and home-made jam. Now I can't make scones to save myself, but I do appreciate when they are well made. These were fresh out of the oven, soft and delicious and I had to share which I didn't enjoy – sharing that is.

I also tried the breakfast bruschetta with beetroot relish, goat's feta, two poached eggs and fresh lime on toast for $15.95. It was satisfying and the relish was made locally along with the eggs.

That's the great thing about getting out from Melbourne - you can really get stuck into some fresh produce. I will go here again and it's very kid friendly with room for strollers.
