Children Craft Their Own Bug To Take Home
The Botanic Gardens Trust is a statutory body established under the Royal Botanic Gardens and Domain Trust Act 1980. The Trust maintains the management and stewardship of the Royal Botanic Garden in Sydney, the Domain, the Australian Botanic Garden Mount Annan and the Blue Mountains Botanic Garden Mount Tomah.
In conjunction with Early Ed, The Calyx, which is located in the heart of the Royal Botanic Gardens of Sydney, is hosting a summer event for families and especially primary school children, titled "Garden Bug Hunt". We all have bugs in our garden, but how to deal with them can become a problem if not equipped with knowledge and know-how.

Families and children are invited to explore the garden and help the scientists search for beetles and stick insects; investigating what makes Australia's insects so unique. Also, on display at the Plants with Bite Exhibition, you will see some of the unique carnivorous plants that can be an insect's worst nightmare.
You will have the opportunity to craft your own bug to take home. All materials for the craft are included in the price of $20.50 per family of which $18.50 goes to the Foundation & Friends Members). If you have paid for the event and then cannot make it on the day, refunds are available up to seven days prior to the event.
The Calyx is located at Mrs Macquaries Road in Sydney. There are two dates for this event – Friday 18th January and Thursday 24th January 2019. You can choose the date suitable when registering and paying online. Sales end on 18th January, so best to get in quickly to not miss out.
