The Redland District Committee on the Ageing (RDCOTA) is a not-for-profit, community organisation based in Redlands City. Their objectives are to promote the rights, interests and well-being of people over the age of 50 in Redland City.

So what does this mean for me and you? Amongst other things, RDCOTA foster community development in the seniors' sector and offer information relating to seniors issues, their families and their carers. Their mission is "to maximise support, minimise barriers and recognise the value of Seniors in the Redlands".

With no Government funding, RDCOTA depends on sponsorships, donations and fundraising activities to keep the doors open. Their next fundraising effort, and my personal favourite, is a Saturday morning Garage Sale. Honestly, one of the hardest things to deal with during the COVID lockdowns has been the inability to attend Garage Sales. Don't you agree?



Mark Saturday 29th of May in your diary now between 7:30am and noon for an opportunity to pick up some bargains - books, DVDs, clothes, and general bric-a-brac. I've come across a couple of gems here previously, including orchids, rose geraniums and toys for the Little People.

RDCOTA is located at 57 Wynyard Street, Cleveland. Come on down and help yourself to some treasures, whilst also supporting a great little community-orientated asset.
