Alfred and Lucina officially moooove to their new home
It's official - The Gap Farmers' Market has a new home at the Hilder Road State School! This great community market began it's journey on the oval of The Gap State School in July this year, moving (temporarily at the time) when the school undertook groundworks some weeks ago.
Whilst the Gap State School was a great venue, feedback from stall holders and market goers alike indicated that the larger space and plentiful (and partially shaded) parking at Hilder Road was favoured. The rest, as they say, is now history!
With live music and a diverse range of stalls selling fresh fruit and veg, pork, seafood, Hungarian fare, "G20 worthy" Cocoa Elf brownies, Pasta Capriccio fresh pasta, goat pies, handmade wares and so much more, this not-for-profit market is held on the second and fourth Sunday of each month, from 6.30am to 11am. Funds raised from the market go straight back Into the community to support local schools, events and initiatives.
This Sunday, the 14th December will be the final morning market for 2014. Don't forget to visit the Christmas Twilight Markets (at Hilder Road State School) on Tuesday 23rd December from 3.30pm until 7pm! When everyone's had a break and re-energised, The Gap Fqrmers' Marrkets will be back with the first market for 2015 being held on Sunday, 25th of January.
The Gap Farmers' Market is a family friendly event and a great morning out for all. Come along to the new venue at the Hilder Road State School in The Gap and support local farmers and producers. There are many new stalls to browse, so give yourself time to check them all out. Fill your trolley with farm fresh produce and other interesting goodies, catch up with friends and neighbours, enjoy a great coffee, grab a bite to eat and enjoy the live entertainment. Not a bad way to spend a Sunday morning!
