Greyhounds, although large, do not require a lot of exercise as basically, they are "couch potatoes" which simply means they are either lazy or just like to hang around sleeping all the time! They are a very sociable dog and most of them love to be with people.
The majority of those being re-homed have excellent and calm personalities and are suitable for most household situations although some do not like cats. If you are thinking of adopting a greyhound, many of the centres will know if they are cat-friendly. However, dogs at this event will not be cat-friendly.
They are the type of dog that loves to sit on your couch and beware, there may not be room for you as well!
This event isn't just a day to adopt greyhounds. If you are thinking about adopting one into your forever home, and want to find out more information, this is a great opportunity. Staff from the Greyhound Adoption Program will be there to answer any of your questions. At the same time, you can meet and get up close and personal with some of their friendly greyhounds.
If you already know you are interested in adopting on the day, please go to this link and fill out the adoption application. The form needs to be filled out in addition to registering to attend the event.
