This is going to be so much fun! Taking place on Saturday 13th September, at the Forum Theatre in Melbourne, is not a sit-down dinner or theatre show. It is five hours of interactive and non-stop entertainment where the audience is as much a part of the show as the performers.

The Forum will be set up as a recreation of a 1930s style speakeasy club, which means you can walk around the venue, dance, gamble, get your hair and makeup done at the styling parlour, have your portrait taken at the photo booth, grab a cocktail or two, and mingle with your friends. You will be encouraged to participate in every aspect of the show and experience all the fun and mayhem of 1930s and 40s entertainment and culture.

You also have the option of buying VIP tickets which will entitle you to gourmet canapés and decadent treats in an exclusive VIP viewing area.

An audience of mobsters, molls and flappers will step back in time to a bygone era at this event. This was an era when men wore three-piece suits, fedora hats and silk ties, and women wore feathers, furs and pill box hats. Big bands ruled the airwaves and gangsters ruled the streets.

features some of the biggest names in cabaret, sideshow vaudeville, burlesque, magic, illusion and big band swing. Michael McQuaid's Red Hot Rhythmakers (10-piece swing band) will present the hot and sweet sounds of 1920s and 1930s jazz bands such as those led by Fletcher Henderson, Duke Ellington and King Oliver. Using original manuscripts as well as custom-written charts, they bring new life to the sounds of the Jazz Age. This young Melbourne band is led by highly-regarded multi-instrumentalist Michael McQuaid, and features the charming vocals of Tamsin West.

You'll also be able to have a flutter at the Gamblin' Den, where you can play poker, black jack or roulette.

The dress code for this event is 'dress to impress'. 1920s-50s gangsters, flappers, molls, burlesque, vintage glamour, dance hall swing and rockabilly are all suitable inspirations for this event. Still not sure what to wear? Have a look at the dress code page for some ideas and images.

To complete your look, there is also a vintage styling parlour that will be available on the day for appointments between 9am and 5pm. Bookings are required. Click here for more information.

Tickets are $70 (general admission) or $140 for VIP access. Tickets are available online or by calling Ticketmaster on 136 100.
