Fantastical fun at the 2015 Adelaide Gangshow
The 2015 Adelaide Gangshow is set to raise its curtains once again from 22 to 26 September marking the show's 55th season. The Gangshow is one of the great traditions of Adelaide and an annual variety show run by the Scout and Guide Associations of South Australia, packed full of fun and entertainment for the whole family.
This year's theme is "A World of Mystery and Fantasy" and will showcase the talent and enthusiasm of 120 Scouts and Guides complete with time and space travel and discovery of fantastical worlds. A further 130 volunteers work behind the scenes to make the whole show come alive – writing the show, arranging the music, building sets, sewing costumes, selling tickets and more.
The Gangshow programme includes comedy and music, loved commercial numbers as well as original sketches and songs written by the talented production team. Don't miss a tour of a mad scientists lab, journey's through mysterious gardens, cruise ships attacked by aliens and haunted houses. Dance is a highlight of the show with the performers presenting hip hop, jazz, ballet, swing and contemporary numbers.
The Adelaide Gangshow, which started its tradition in 1961, is part of the Performing Arts Section of Scouts SA, which offers youth members the opportunity to learn skills in singing, acting, dancing, script writing, choreography and musical composition, and also offers members and non members opportunities to learn professional skills in costume design and construction, sound engineering, lighting design and more.
