An incongruous pink building resembling a wedding cake, you wouldn't immediately think 'Gandhi', but this wacky building is, in fact, a memorial to him. Located in Kanyakumari, the most southerly tip of India, the memorial stands at 79 feet - the exact age when Gandhi died. There is a hole in the roof through which, apparently, no rain will ever fall. Legend has it that at midday on his birthday every year the sun shines through this hole.
