The best way to see Port Stephens

Gan Gan Lookout is one of the most see attractions in Nelson Bay. If you are looking for one of the most spectacular views on the coast then this lookout is definitely worth checking out. Once you walk to the top of the lookout, you are looking over the magnificent bay. You can see Nelson Bay, Stockton Beach.

When at the Gan Gan lookout, you are able to look all the way around Port Stephens. When looking south you can see the opposite side of the peninsula, south-west you can see Newcastle and the cargo vessels, if looking to the west you can see the mountain boundary and if looking north west you can see Soldiers Point and Hawks Nest. You can also see two gigantic headlands, Nelsons Head and Nelson Bay.

The lookout offers picturesque views over the whole of Port Stephens and is definitely one of the highlights of the area. Its a great place to take photographs, for those avid photographers out there, plus its perfect to just have a relaxing romantic walk with your partner and watch the sunset at night. For whatever the reason, you don't want to miss out on seeing the breathtaking views from the lookout.

Nelson Bay, Gan Gan Lookout

Its 160 metres which makes it the highest and most accessible lookout in Port Stephens.

The Gan Gan Lookout is located 1.5km south-west of the city centre, along Stockton Rd and then Lilly Hill Rd. This leads you to the car park for the Gan Gan lookout. Once you get there, follow the path around the side of the Telstra buildings which will lead you along a path up to the Gan Gan Lookout.
