Pineapples, bananas, prawns... Australian's love to take everyday items and blow them up to exaggerated proportions, so it was only a matter of time before someone decided to do the same with board games.

Your favourite games get a supersized makeover at Games Night @ King George Square, a monthly event where participants can relive their childhood and connect (four) with like-minded people. Organisers will be rolling out a different gigantic board game each month; examples include Scrabble and a chess board that uses garden gnomes.

See for yourself! (Video of previous games night fun.)

Games Night takes place at King George Square on the last Thursday of the month, from 5.00pm until 9.00pm. One giant game will be provided, while participants are encouraged to bring their own board and card games from home (although some will be provided on the night.) You can bring your family and friends to play against, or you can start a game with a stranger (and maybe make a new friend!)

Games Night @ King George Square is a free event suited to all ages. The giant games are naturally pretty popular so if you'd like to have a go, you should try to get there as early as possible. Otherwise, dust off your Jenga, Monopoly, Trivial Pursuit and Guess Who boxes and head in to the city for a night of G-rated fun.
