If you're like me and tend to work through your kids school holidays (
"Bah! Humbug! All work and no play...") never fear,
"Game On!" night is here!
"Game On!" is held every Tuesday night at The Highway (HWY)'s Lounge & Deck Bar.
We arrived with the kids, who quickly started up a game of table tennis whilst we waited for our meals. they have a great system of ordering by the way - meals are ordered and paid for at the kitchen's counter & patrons are given one of those pager gizmos which beeps when the order is ready to be collected.
Throughout the night, we also challenged each other to
Connect 4 and
Upwords. Together with the table tennis, this made for fun, simple and quick game play.

Challenge each other to table tennis out in The Highway's Deck & Lounge Bar on a Tuesday night...
Now the evenings are darker and cooler, the Deck & Lounge Bar's shade sails (beautifully illuminated with soft glowing colours) and plentiful, well placed ceramic and gas heating create a relaxing and welcoming atmosphere, enabling patrons to enjoy the great outdoors all year round.

For $35, the American platter's ideal for sharing - comprising braised pork ribs, buffalo wings, sliders & paprika shoe string fries. Image courtesy of The Highway's website.
This was my first dining experience at The Highway. In 2012, it won a swag of awards from the Australian Hotels Association (SA), including
Best Outdoor or Non-enclosed Facility and
Best Overall Hotel. Based on my experience, these awards were well deserved.

The Highway is well known locally for its quirky signage - I'm not entirely sure what this week's alludes to...
My son can't wait to return and challenge his mate to table tennis again. I have to say, I can't wait to return and try another incredible meal from the enticing menu. This time round I ordered the American style braised pork ribs which were delicious and cooked to perfection - with the meat falling off the bone and seemingly melting in my mouth. Kids' meals are $10 (10yo and under).
So, if you're looking to get out of the house for a meal and some fun, try The Highway on a Tuesday night, for
"Game On!".
