For those people who have not attended this event before, the presumption is that several wineries featuring varietals from France's Rhone Valley come together with people who love the works of George R. R. Martin. George Martin is best known for his series of epic fantasy novels, which were adapted into the HBO series Game of Thrones.
Lords and ladies, knights and soldiers - please note - The King of Winesteros bids you to prepare for Game of Rhones. This is an epic celebration of the great grape varieties of the Rhone Valley and it will return to Melbourne for one final battle.
After a year's absence, the finest winemaking establishments from across the kingdoms of Australia, New Zealand and further away will meet again in thirsty battle. There will be some blood red wine such as Grenache, Shiraz, Whistler Wines, Mourvedre, Viognier, Marsanne and more. This is sure to flow into your crystal chalice, and local pubs will be there roasting and smoking delectable meat and vegetables.
