The epic celebration of the grape varieties of the Rhone Valley returns to Melbourne for one last time on 18th May 2019 from 11.00 am until 3.30 pm. It will be on at the Fitzroy Town Hall Hotel, 166 Johnston Street, Fitzroy.
Wine is coming back for one last time! The dates will coincide with the screening of the final season of the
Game of Thrones. For those people who have not attended this event before, the presumption is that several wineries featuring varietals from France's Rhone Valley come together with people who love the works of George R. R. Martin. George Martin is best known for his series of epic fantasy novels, which were adapted into the HBO series
Game of Thrones.
Lords and ladies, knights and soldiers - please note - The King of Winesteros bids you to prepare for Game of Rhones. This is an epic celebration of the great grape varieties of the Rhone Valley and it will return to Melbourne for one final battle.
After a year's absence, the finest winemaking establishments from across the kingdoms of Australia, New Zealand and further away will meet again in thirsty battle. There will be some blood red wine such as Grenache, Shiraz, Whistler Wines, Mourvedre, Viognier, Marsanne and more. This is sure to flow into your crystal chalice, and local pubs will be there roasting and smoking delectable meat and vegetables.
This is the last Game of Rhones event to be held in Australia, so make sure you
"send forth your ravens, rally your friends, and prepare for the greatest wine event this kingdom has ever seen!"
The cost of the tickets is $60 and this includes all your wine tastings plus a Revel-designed crystal wine glass to taste from and keep - valued at $20.
In between goblets, ticketholders will have the chance to talk with sommeliers and eat some of the themed food on offer.
While the kingdom has roamed far and wide, this event will only be happening in Melbourne so make sure you make your bookings now so as not to miss out. You can book your tickets at this
link.
It would also be great fun and goes without saying that dressing up as your favourite GoT character is highly encouraged! This would just add to the mirth of the day.
Please note: this event is not endorsed nor affiliated with the HBO TV Series
Game of Thrones. But do feel free to be inspired by its characters!
