Life is about the journey - some roads are not always what they seem but you sure learn a great deal from them!
On 01 October 2016, TechCamps4Kids will be hosting Game Jam at Guildford Grammar School. With a focus on bridging the technology & communication gap, this event is designed for both parent and child.
This will be another milestone for TechCamps4Kids, which has been an instrumental leader in a number of 'firsts' for Western Australia. Early in August, TechCamps4Kids hosted the WA Video Game Challenge which was a first for Perth/Western Australia. In September, they coordinated, ran and managed a LIVE STREAM for the Wheatbelt Science Forum, which is another first for Western Australia. And this time, they will be hosting Game Jam leading the way for kids in technology for Western Australia and joining the international tech hub circuit.
01 October sounds like a great day for creating a video game! (photo compliments of TechCamps4Kids)
Any parents and child (age 7 and older) can participate in this event, however tickets are limited. All participants will have a computer to use on the day, enjoy a mini lesson on how to code a game, enjoy refreshments for morning tea, and have their final game published on the website as part of the international incentive towards encouraging more children in STEAM. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths)
Bookings can be done online and tickets are $57.25 for both parent and child. It is recommended that one brings a USB to save their game on which I think would make a great present.
