The Gallery Cafe at Annandale is one of those trendy establishments that sells art, and provides for great ambience and a noisy environment, especially on a weekend. Their prices aren't too bad either although the service is quite ordinary and inconsistent. One minute the staff are quite attentive, and the next minute they can be somewhat bored and disinterested in you; even when it comes to paying for your coffee and cake.

Head towards the back and the ambience feels cosy and spacious. Not the best cafe in Sydney, although it is worth coming to once in a while with great company; a party of two as they say in America, and especially when the other person wants to go more than you do.

Opted for a latte and a florentine cookie. The latte wasn't too bad, although it could have had a little less milk. My latte just needed a couple more sugars and I was in latte heaven for a moment. Now over to the florentine: no joke, this was the most filling and rich florentine I have ever tasted. If anything, their cakes are worth a try.
