Craft beer lovers, mark this one in your calendar -
Gabs Festival returns to Queensland in January 2021.
The Great Australian Beer SpecTAPular - more commonly known as Gabs - was founded in 2011, when the Australian craft beer scene could still be described as 'fledgling'. Since then, it has gained a worldwide reputation, with The Beer Connoisseur magazine calling it 'the best beer festival in the world'.
If you were disappointed that the festival was cancelled in 2020, fear not! Their 2021 season launches with a summer festival, starting at the Sunshine Coast (Sunshine Coast Stadium Foreshore, Sportsman Parade, Bokarina) on 2 January and ending at the Gold Coast (The Great Lawn, Broadwater Parklands, Marine Parade, Southport) on 9 January. Sorry, Brisbane - you're not on the summer festival line-up, but watch this space for more information about the festival return in April.
While the summer tour is a slightly smaller version of the main event, you can still sample the wares of over 70 craft breweries serving beers and cider, eat your way through the street food parade, book into a masterclass or enjoy rides and live entertainment. Non-beer drinkers are even catered for at the Wine, Champagne and Seltzer Lawn.
Tickets are $42 per session, with the first session taking place from 11.30am - 4pm and the second taking place 5.30 - 10pm. Purchase tickets
