Just a girl spreading the word about all the fun (and probably nerdy) things to do!

Where to find things you never knew you wanted
These are some places/items where fantastically funky gifts can be found.

First, this is my newest discovery and it is for all guitar enthusiasts out there, pick punches. Basically, it's like a hole puncher, but it punches out guitar picks. You can make them look any way you want and you'll never run out again.

Second, my next favourite is the Melon store in Chatswood Westfield, (however I will admit to liking only half the store, as the other half has gag adult gifts which aren't really my thing). The store has lots of interesting items such as night light mp3 players, rubiks cube clocks, a book titled 'The hypocondriac's guide to self diagnosis' and even hamburger phones.

Third, another store, Hart and Heim which has a plathera of cool gadgets and games, I've found a real life angry birds game there once, as well as household items such as cool pillow cases, reminder trees (multiple brances with clips for notes), pinhole cameras and cute couple mugs.

Fourth, Australian Geographic, this place is aimed at kids and has lots of cool sciency toys like microscopes and telescopes, as well as kits such as building your own dinosaur or person, they also have an abundance of magic tricks, technological devices (such as tetris clocks) and fun miscellaneous things such as pac-man ice-cube trays.

Fifth is the Games Chain at Chatswood Westfield, this store, albeit small, is located just outside Coles on level 2 and is stocked to the roof with games. Not just your everyday board game that you can find at Toys R Us, no it has heaps and heaps of games, board games of all sorts, games based off movies, many, many versions of monopoly and card games and jigsaw puzzles. I'll admit that sometimes the prices can be a bit high but the game quality is always good.

Sixth is all the photo gifts that I've already written about and can be found here 'photo gifts' and here 'make your own picture book'.

Lastly number seven (I'm leaving out all the obvious choices such as ebay, confectionery stores and the like) which for me is a mixed case, I love the items but I hate the price. This place is Think Geek which has the coolest, nerdiest, techiest items you can find around all placed in one website, however it is in America and shipping costs a fortune so unless you can find a way around it, all you can do is sit and stare at the wondrous items you cannot buy.

Sorry, I thought it was listed under 'Sydney' as an article. I'll look into it.

Helpful, but not for WA subscraibers! Maybe re-assign this article to the NSW site?
