Remember those days when you were busy and you wished you could take a day off and spend it at home, all by yourself? Now you are alone, getting bored and wondering what you can do. Actually, you can do whatever you want, or almost. You can do something relaxing refill your batteries, or you can go for something funny and have loads of fun. Here are some suggestions for those who don't know what to do when they are alone:
1. Have a movie or TV series marathon
You don't want to go out this weekend? Spend the evening on the couch, in front of the TV watching your favourite movies or the latest season of a good TV series. Just put on your pyjamas, make some popcorn and let the movie marathon begin!
If you want to exercise and have fun at the same time, dancing is a very good choice! Turn on the music and move with it. The best part about dancing alone is that you don't have to care about making the wrong move or coordinating with a partner.
3. Dye your hair
Are you up for a drastic change? How about dying your hair this weekend? You can pick a daring colour or you can just us a natural tone to cover the grey hairs.
4. Enjoy your favourite craft
If you are that kind of person who enjoys taking on a DIY project from time to time, a weekend spent at home alone is the best time for such an activity. If you don't have everything you need at home already, go to a local store and buy all the materials. You can try your hands at painting, at crafting a nice picture frame for your photo, you can make some nice pieces jewellery or even make yourself a skirt.
5. Enjoy a spa treatment
You don't have to go to a beauty centre to enjoy a nice spa treatment. You can prepare a facial yourself, you can spoil yourself with a hot bath, lots of oils and bath salt.
6. Cook your favourite dish
Maybe you don't spend as much time as you would like in the kitchen cooking your favourite dishes, or baking cakes. Since you have a short break from your daily chores, why not use it to prepare something delicious? Or maybe you want to try out a new recipe?
7. Practice your foreign language skills
Do you remember you tried to learn French a few years ago? Or Spanish, or Italian… Do you still have those CDs that were supposed to teach you the language in a week? Why not give it a try again? Of course, you will not become fluent over the weekend, but you will certainly have some fun.
8. Play Sudoku
Are you good with numbers? How about a game of Sudoku? The rules are not difficult to understand and once you've done a few puzzles, you can get good at it. It's captivating and it can keep you up for hours.
