Whether you're looking to keep them entertained indoors or outdoors, there's something for everyone. Here are some of the best kids events in Melbourne that will leave them invigorated and excited and channelise their energies in the most creative way.

Melbourne Museum

At the Melbourne Museum, kids can explore the interactive exhibits, exhibitions and activities. From dinosaur bones to space exploration, the museum has something for everyone. Kids can also join in the fun with craft activities, story-telling and special events. It is recommended to book your tickets before visiting this place.

You can access this place by public transport like trains and trams, by bicycle or car.

Werribee Open Range Zoo For a wild adventure, head to Werribee Open Range Zoo. With its African-themed environment, the zoo offers a unique experience. Kids can take a safari jeep ride and get up close to the amazing animals. There are also educational activities and interactive experiences.



Because of its popularity, it is recommended to book tickets prior to visiting this place.

If your kids have a passion for art and culture, then the National Gallery of Victoria is the perfect place to visit. There are a plethora of events happening at this place which makes it a preferred choice for many. Entry is free for all, however, based on the event you choose to attend there may be ticket associated with it.This place is also easily accessible by trams, cars and by walking.

Sealife Melbourne Aquarium The Melbourne Aquarium is another great spot for kids. With its incredible underwater world, the aquarium is full of amazing creatures. Kids can also learn about marine life and take part in educational activities.


Wow your kids with the magnificent sea creatures and their underwater habitat. Watch these beauties perform some great tricks and enjoy the grins your little one's face. We celebrated our son's second birthday at Sealife and he was thrilled beyond measure to watch these aqua animals.

With school holidays going on, it is best recommended to book the tickets online so that any disappointment can be avoided on those tiny faces.

Location: King Street, Melbourne 3000. Located alongside the Yarra river.
Timing: Daily 9.30am-5pm. The last entry is allowed at 4pm.

Scienceworks For a fun and educational experience, visit Scienceworks. Kids can explore the interactive exhibits, play with robots and even build their own creations. There are also plenty of interactive activities to keep them entertained and satisfy their curiosity. If planets and the solar system intrigues them then a Planetarium session will make them in awe even more. Who knows the next Einstein may be growing up in your family - so it's a must-visit for all science-loving souls.

Scienceworks is closed on Good Friday and Christmas Day.
