Located in Tanawha on the Sunshine Coast, the magnificent 82 hectare Maroochy Bushland Botanic Gardens is a showcasing of plants and animals native to east coast subtropical Australia. These spectacular gardens naturally provide an exceptional backdrop for a variety of events and attractions that visitors can enjoy.

Celebrate Botanic Gardens Day with a practical workshop focused on propagating some stunning local natives for your backyard. Get your hands dirty and learn valuable skills, that will not only improve your garden by also help support plant diversity and native wildlife.
This workshop is suitable for adults.

The Maroochy Regional Bushland Botanic Garden is proudly supported by a dedicated and passionate group of volunteers, who welcome visitors, lead guided walks, construct paths, maintain gardens, conserve sculptures and advocate for biodiversity conservation.
The
Moments of Wonder Exhibition is an opportunity to view the bushland through the volunteers’ eyes. Their love of place and the way that the Botanic Garden touches the volunteers’ lives, is expressed in this exhibition, through poetry, botanical prints, sketch and photography.

Join Grammy Award-nominated artist Tenzin Choegyal for an immersive sound and music experience,
Meditate // Anytime, Anywhere. This phenomenal sixty minute performance will unfold in the beautiful Sculpture Garden with sounds from the classical and chamber music worlds with world-music textures.
The audience will be invited to move around the gardens at their own pace, to take in the ebb and flow of sounds from each artist, connected by a lulling drone ambience to create a natural ‘surround sound’ experience. The natural bushland soundscape will complete this truly original and evocative take on chamber music.

Pilates in the garden offers a unique opportunity to individuals of all fitness levels to come together and embrace the benefits of Pilates, amid the natural splendour of the Botanic Garden.
Whether you are a seasoned practitioner or a newbie to Pilates, everybody is welcome to join this beginner-friendly mat Pilates class, every Saturday morning in the open lawn area.

Eager to get your tweens out of the house during the holidays, and on the move?
A new
Great Botanic Race has been set for the 2023/2024 summer holidays! This self-guided orienteering activity is an awesome way to take part in an active, all-ages day at the Botanic Garden. Older children and teenagers love competing against their friends and solving the puzzle while exploring the bushland.
Grab a map at the information wall (near the lagoon crossing) in the lower part of the Garden or download and print before you come along.

Select between the Junior Course (6 letters, <1km in <1hr) or the Full Course (15 letters, <2km in <2hr). Use the detailed map to navigate between the numbered control points, each with a different letter and a hole punch so you know where you’ve been. Find them all to solve the puzzle.

FAUNAWATCH

MEET IN THE CARPARK NEAR THE TALLOWWOOD SHELTER

Faunawatch is a community-based fauna monitoring initiative run by Wildlife Queensland’s Sunshine Coast and Hinterland Branch and supported by Sunshine Coast Council.
The months fauna observation activity is open to all to come along and join. No experience is necessary. The
Faunawatch starts with a walk on one of the several trails in the gardens followed by BYO morning tea and a general discussion. A record of the fauna identified is kept.
Make sure to dress for an outdoor walk; binoculars will also be useful.
