Celebrate the sisterhood with these super fun activities

When was the last time you gathered with your pals and had a great night together at your house? If you say I am too busy these days, maybe these ideas can give you a kick in the butt to find some time to nurture the special bond you have with your girlfriends! You can use these ideas for your hen's party, birthday party or any other special occasion to celebrate the sisterhood with your ladies on the girls' only nights and enjoy the fun all along the way.

Plate Collage Fun

Food are your main source for the Plate Collage Fun(Wikipedia Image, Author:Keith Weller, USDA ARS)

Plate Collage is a kind of food decorating and sculpting art. You can design your pattern on the plate or in a container with food related materials, either raw or processed. If you are a host, I suggest you let your girlfriends design their patterns in advance and bring the materials along with them or you provide all the materials for them once you were informed what you need to prepare beforehand. Or give them a surprise and have some spontaneous fun with whatever you can provide for them. If you need to find inspiration for the collage, just Google "Food Art" images and there will be hundreds of thousands of results. I once organised a hen's party for a client of mine and received many positive comments for this creative party idea. Now you can give it a go and have food decorating and sculpting fun with your girlfriends.

Manicure Psychic Night

Manicure pampering night with girls

Doing our nails is such a girly thing that nearly no man understands why we bother, but we do. Because a manicure is like applying lipstick - it can boost our mood in those gloomy days. So gather your girlfriends for a manicure night, each one brings nail polish and helps each other to apply the colours or to make it simple, just hire a beautician to come to your house and pamper all your girl pals with a mood boosting manicure. While you are waiting for the colours to dry out, a call-in psychic can give each one a reading to top the fun. As a host of the night, I suggest you prepare some nail removers, a box of tissues, nail cutters, cotton pads and some finger food and drinks for the night.

Recipe Swap Dinner

Get inspirations from the cook book

I believe you must have some girlfriends who have some homemade recipes that they want to share with other cooking lovers. So why don't you organise a recipe swap dinner night for your close friends? Your girlfriends will bring along one of their favourite dishes they created at home together with its recipe and swap it with other dinner guests of the night, who will do the same as well. It will be a night full of taste, laugh and fun stories. If you have a big kitchen, you can also arrange cooking demonstrations for your girlfriends who would love to give everyone a live cooking lesson.

If you just swap recipes with your friends without the cooking demonstration, maybe a chick flick marathon after the dinner?

Fondue Dipping Night

This idea is especially great for a cold winter night. You can have two sets of fondues, one is for savoury cheese, the other for sweet chocolate. So prepare two big plates, one full of sausages, vegetables, bread and seafood for the cheese fondue. The other plate will be fruits for the chocolate fondue and the firm favourites strawberries and bananas. It is a fun dipping night without the sweat of setting the party up.

Art and Craft Night

Vision Board Collage Art

This classic girly gathering chitchat fun night has always been my favourite night with my gals. There are just so many arty and crafty things we can choose from - card making, scrapbooking, knitting, beading and ceramic painting. I organised a Vision Board Collage night with my girlfriends and it was so inspiring to see how others designed their vision boards and expressed themselves through their artworks, another aspect of life that can help you to understand your gals better and be inspired by each other.
