Mother's Day is fast approaching. If you haven't planned your special day yet, there are still plenty of events available which are perfect for the whole family.
Spoil Mum this Mother's Day with these fun events:
1. Mother's Day Classic
Walk, run, fundraise or volunteer to support Breast Cancer Research. Held at the South Bank Promenade, the Mother's Day Classic includes a 4.5km walk, a 4.5km run, 8km walk and an 8km run. The first event for the day is the 4.5km run beginning at 7am and if you feel like a sleep in, the latest event is the 4.5km walk starting at 8.50am.
2. Sky High Picnic
The Wheel of Brisbane is offering a
Sky High Picnic this Mother's Day for an extra $15. This includes a piccolo of Sirromet NV sparkling, cheddar cheese with water crackers and olives. The first 80 mums to ride will also receive chocolates.
3. Tommerup's Dairy Farm
If you fancy a drive to the Scenic Rim, why not celebrate Mother's Day at
Tommerup's Dairy Farm ? Feed the animals, browse the market stalls or enjoy a picnic under the blue gums. With live music and the giant lawn games, there will something to keep the whole family entertained.
4. Mother's Day at Newstead House
Treat your mother to a delicious morning or afternoon
high tea , served on the verandah of Newstead House. A decadent menu has been prepared which includes petite lemonade scones, lemon curd tarts, chocolate hazelnut ganache tart with smoked salt and floss and ribbon sandwiches. This high tea costs $55 per person and includes a glass of sparkling wine on arrival.
5. Kookaburra Show Boat
Treat your mum to a cruise on the Brisbane River. Hop onboard the iconic
Kookaburra Showboat and enjoy the spectacular views, scrumptious cuisine and live jazz. Every mum receives a free glass of sparking wine.
Breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner cruises are available. Prices vary depending on the cruise.
6. High Tea at the Dawn Tea Rooms
