Fun Crafts to Make

Let your creativity expand while having fun
One of my favourite activities to do over long weekends is crafting. Making crafts is an art and I can assure you that there is nothing like the feeling of knowing that you just made something incredible with your own two hands. There are so many awesome ideas out there that there is always something else you can make. Recently, I found some ideas that just really hit it home for me.

Decorating a Box- boxes of every size are used for storing everything from toothbrushes to kitchen supplies, but seeing regular brown boxes in my closet isn't very appealing to me. In fact, it's sort of depressing. Wouldn't it be nice to have pretty, colourful boxes that you decorated in your house to liven things up a bit? It only takes a little work and it's a blast for any age! You can use stickers, ribbon, permanent markers, duct tape, beads, fake flowers, paper anything! Your kids will love to have something they are actually allowed to decorate, it's a great time killer, and it'll make you smile every time you see it.

Painting a Canvas- now when I say "painting a canvas" I don't mean you have to do this whole elaborate landscaped picture, which if you can that's awesome, but if you can't don't give up yet. If you paint the canvas a solid colour and then write a friend's name on it you would make your friend's day! I did just that for a younger friend of mine and she loved it! Or you could use masking tape and make a zigzag design with it, paint on top of that, take the masking tape off, and have a canvas with zigzag rows, which is cool.

Making a Card- making cards is so much fun! You can make the card however you want. You get to choose the wording, the size, the colour, the theme, the decorations everything!

Friends Bracelets- are really fun for girls around 8 and up to make. They are easy and if you switch up the colour combos they can be given to boys and girls alike. There are plenty of different designs to choose from. They are usually made with embroidery floss, so they are inexpensive to make and pretty to wear.

Have fun crafting!

Some good suggestions GR. I recently made sock drawer dividers by cutting up old cardboard boxes. It filled in an afternoon and gives a real sense of satisfaction.
