As any mother with young children will tell you, it can sometimes be difficult to keep the kids entertained and you're always on the lookout for something different to do. Check this out - The City Of Gosnells has some fantastic events and activities for young children, at venues around the Gosnells area, running until the end of August.



Family Rhyme Time

Family Rhyme Time has rhymes, songs and stories for children up to 3 years of age.

Held at Thornlie Library, Kenwick Library, Amherst Village and the Knowledge Centre, this program is designed to help with communication, interaction and fun between parents and children.

Thornlie Library (1-3 years) Mondays - 9.30am – 10.30am

Amherst Village (1-3 years) Tuesdays - 10.00am – 11.00am

Kenwick Library (0-12 months) Wednesdays - 9.30am – 10.30am

Knowledge Centre (0-12 months) Fridays - 11.00am – 12.00pm


Sporty Kids

A fun, interactive sports program for children 2 ½ – 5 years of age, developed to help co-ordination, confidence and agility in young children.

Two sessions are held every Monday, until 2 July, 2012, at the Maddington Community Centre, Cnr Yule and Alcock St, Maddington.
Storytime

Kenwick Library, Thornlie Library, Amherst Village and the Knowledge Centre are holding Storytime sessions for all pre-school children.

Children can learn to love books and reading in a fun environment. All Storytime sessions are free.

Kenwick Library: Mondays - 9.30am – 10.00am

Thornlie Library: Tuesdays and Thursdays – 10.30am – 11.00am

Knowledge Centre: Fridays – 9.30am – 10.00am

Amherst Village: Wednesdays - 9.30am – 10.00am and 11.30am – 12.00pm
Water Awareness Classes

Water Awareness Classes are designed to help babies and toddlers be comfortable and safe in the water. Each class lasts for thirty minutes and bookings are essential.

Classes are held daily, Monday - Friday 9am, Saturday 8:25am until the end of August, 2012 at Leisure World, Corner Culross Ave & Thornlie Ave, Thornlie.



Junior Gym

This one is for slightly older children. A Junior Gym program for kids aged 5 to 17 years of age, to help them stay fit, strong and healthy, with a workout session designed especially for growing bodies.

There are also Junior Gym Group Classes available for kids aged 8 to 14 years of age.

Classes are held every Monday and Wednesday from 4pm to 4.45pm at Leisure World, Corner Culross Ave & Thornlie Ave, Thornlie.

Dive-In Disco's

This one is also for slightly older children. Fully supervised, safe, low cost and lots of fun, in a disco atmosphere, for children 10 to 15 years of age.

This event gives children access to the pool, spa, sauna, steam room. There is also a sausage sizzle and a DJ playing all their favourite tunes.

Held at Leisure World, Corner Culross Ave & Thornlie Ave, Thornlie, tickets are limited and cost $8.50 or $9.50 on the night.
