Campbelltown Theatre Group is holding open auditions on Sunday 14th April, 2013 at 9:30am at the Campbelltown Theatre for its upcoming play The Full Monty.
The Full Monty - the musical follows the same story line as the movie. A group of unemployed steel workers notice how excited their girlfriends and wives get after attending a male review show. They decide that stripping is a really quick and easy way to make money. Struggling with themes of self esteem, sexuality, body image, child custody and bigotry, the Full Monty promises not just to give all those involved a laugh and an eye full, but a good tug at the heart strings too.
The director, Danielle, has put the call out to everyone in the local community that is even slightly interested in being in the Full Monty and can hold a note, to come down on Sunday and try out your skills and see if you can start your career in amateur show biz.
With both male and female roles being cast, be prepared with sheet music preferably to sing two songs of your choice. Should you make it through the singing, you will be called back to read from the script and move to music.
One of the characters is an African-American man so there is a special need for a man of colour to be her 'Big Black Man'.
Rehearsals will generally be held on Tuesday and Thursday nights with performances Fridays and Saturdays in August.
It is an amateur theatre company with an ambience that is like most theatre companies of fun, family and nerves.
Campbelltown Theatre Company has been entertaining the Macarthur for since 1957, so come down and join the fun and at worst have a few laughs, tears and meet some new folks from your community.
