Japanese dessert pancakes
Fujimi Dorayaki is serving up one of the most iconic Japanese sweets to the Sydney area - Dorayaki. This sweet is made up of two hot pancakes sandwiched together with a filling. Typically the filling is red bean and the outside is a castella cake batter. It was not something I tried while in Japan, so I was surprised to stumble upon it and try it in the middle of Sydney.

I discovered this shop while wandering through George Street, looking for dessert after dinner. At first, I was a little sceptical as I didn't know what it was but I decided to try it anyway. There were plenty of different fillings on offer, including the more traditional like Matcha and Classic Mochi Red Bean. Additionally, there were three different bases to chose from including original, matcha or bamboo base.

However, I ultimately decided to get the Cream cheese oreo, and the Vanilla ice cream with Nutella and banana on an original base. And they were simply delicious, the pancakes themselves were soft and sweet while the centre was sweet but not too sweet. Making for the perfect after-dinner dessert!
