They say that the best things in life come in pairs - the beach and the sun, rum and coke, books and music, Zumba and Konga... What they don't say is that Sydney offers the collection of the latter and they can be found in a quaint yet chic and stylish Dance for Fitness studio located in the heart of Sydney CBD.
With their hips swinging to catchy tunes and personalised classes, Fuego Studiosi s bringing sexy back to the Dance for Fitness scene. While the competition offer crowded classes and standard service, a class at Fuego Studios is a unique and joyful experience.
My journey in Fuego Studios started a month ago with Zumba and Konga classes. However, what started as an attempt to keep fit while having fun has become an addictive routine of searching for the next high from exercise. It's a no-brainer, dancing can make you happy.
As soon as you enter Fuego Studios, you know you've entered a parallel universe - a groovy sphere filled with rhythm and irresistible steps. Amidst neon lights, pink and yellow colours, cushions and other cosy decorations, the real magic begins...
More than just fitness classes, Zumba sessions are a hell of a party. With their energy and enthusiasm, they are going to send you through the roof! Hands down, these classes are a blast! You can expect a dance-off between two instructors and two groups of students, smash hits -not just Latin music-, trendy dance steps, howls of excitement and lots of fun. Once you finish your work out, you'll realise you've done 50 minutes of cardio and you'll feel exhilarated. So actually, you are just partying yourself into shape.
My other favourite class is Konga! Far from the dance we see in the film The Mask, Konga is actually a workout that will send you into a frenzy. With a combination of Boxing, Kickboxing, Cardio, Rock, Pop and Pilates, Konga consists of adrenaline-filled routines that target specific parts of your body to sculpt your physique.
Apart from the fierce instructors and kickass routines, Fuego Studios offers a heart-warming sense of community where instructors look after the students and everyone knows each other - so it's a friendly and modern environment to exercise. I certainly recommend it to anyone looking to work out while having a good time. But please beware, it can become addictive.
