The Best Beer Menu in Town
A little under a year ago I moved to Jan Juc, chasing the lifestyle change and a backyard full of big old gum trees and possums a move to this area brings with it.

But what I didn't anticipate in the sea-change was just how many amazing restaurants had popped up in Torquay and Front Beach Cafe, Lounge, Bar & Restaurant does not disappoint.

I love food, more than the average person probably should, and their food is fantastic, but my favourite thing by far about Front Beach is that it was one of the very first venues in the Geelong and Surf Coast region to embrace the love of Craft Beers! (There is a second venue I will be reviewing soon, and I have had the very hard task of testing them both out for you).

If you are yet to have the pleasure of visiting this now favourite local hot spot, and you like beer, you might want to sit down for what I'm about to tell you.

The beer menu is an impressive one, it boasts 7 beers and a cider on tap, 5 regular/imported beers, 39 - yes 39, bottled craft and micro brewed beers and 10 ciders. That's 61 different ways to drink a delicious beer with a cheeky beach front setting. Are you frothing at the mouth yet?

But if beer is not your thing, never fear, you can choose from a solid collection of carefully selected local and Australian wines. In fact local is a common theme on both the wine and beer menus, and this is not only important for supporting small business, but is a more sustainable choice, as transport is kept to a minimum.

Now I could give you a play by play review of which beers (and wine, I don't like to discriminate) are my favourite, but somehow I think it would be a lot more fun to let you find out for yourself!

So I will just finish by saying, whether you are a local or a visitor, if you are looking for the best place for a beer in Torquay, you can't go past Front Beach Cafe. And when you are sitting in their front bar in the summer sunshine, working your way through the beer menu you will find yourself wondering why no-one in Torquay came up with this idea earlier!
