This August, the Australian Psychedelic Society Adelaide will present the Adelaide premiere screening of the feature length documentary, 'From Shock to Awe'.
1.4 million Australians at any one time have Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (Source: Australian Bureau of Statistics). The film proposes that our current psychiatric model has proven ineffective in dealing with what has become a mental health crisis.
Often seen as radical, psychedelic medicines might become a revolutionary and life-changing treatment that have the potential to overcome the challenges within the current mental health system.
The documentary follows two war vets on a healing journey to the Amazon to treat their PTSD using Ayahuasca, and MDMA with their partners on their return home.
A panel discussion will follow the screening including speakers: Mitch Schultz; the producer of From Shock to Awe and director of DMT: The Spirit Molecule (already a very popular insight into the properties of DMT), and Steve McDonald - war veteran and co-founder of Psychedelic Research in Science and Medicine with more speakers yet to be announced.
This special event and film screening will be held on Saturday, 31 August 2019 from 2.30pm - 6.30pm at Mercury Cinema on Morphett Street in the west end. Tickets are $20 - $25 and are available here.
