You may not have come across …From Scratch Patisserie before, but that may just mean you're not looking in the right places. While they can be a little hard to track down, they serve some of the freshest, tastiest, and most inspired patisserie treats in Adelaide. So note them down in your diaries, because From Scratch are come to a Friday or Sunday near you.
You heard right, you can only hope to visit From Scratch on a Friday or Sunday. Every Friday, from 7am till 9am, you can find them on Leigh Street in the city with their Pop Up Patisserie. They set up in the alleyway next to Coffee Branch, and their vintage countertop is all they need to sell their tasty creations. Treat yourself on a Friday and instead of breakfast at home, grab an almond croissant on your way to work. They don't do drinks, but Coffee Branch will happily let you come inside with a From Scratch baked good, to enjoy with one of their coffees or drinks.
On a Sunday you'll have a bit more time to get down and try their wares. They set up at the Adelaide Showground Farmers Market. Their stall is a bit bigger, and there are so many delicious treats to try. You'll have to get in past the crowd to take a look at everything on offer, but once you do, you can enjoy it there at one of the outside tables, or take it home for a treat later on. The Farmers Market is on every Sunday from 9am till 1pm at the Adelaide Showgrounds.
The list of food available at From Scratch is almost endless. They have macarons, eclairs, tarts, cakes, scrolls, and croissants. They do offer more than just your usual bakery or patisserie. One of the best things is the amount of flavour experimentation that goes on, rather than just regular eclairs, why not try the pink Strawberry Fields Forever. Their almond croissants are also a highlight, with flaky almonds and pastry, filled with a rich and smooth almond filling. As good as any you'll find on the streets of Paris.
So for perfect pastry, interesting flavours, and delicious fillings, go and try something from …From Scratch Patisserie. Their staff are friendly, and the food is good, so what better reason to visit. All we can hope is that one day they open up their own store so that their goodies can be enjoyed with a good drink on any day of the week.
Keep up to date with From Scratch on either their Facebook or Twitter Pages.
Impressive! I'm so keen to try this now... You've done a great job of hunting them down Natasha, and thanks for all the pictures! I'm drooling... There can never be enough great pasty in life. I have got to try one of those almond croissants. Glad that tomorrow is Friday. Thanks :)
