Flinders Lane was home to Australia's clothing industry for much of the 20th century. A new TV series is in the pipeline on Melbourne's fashion industry. Discover it's extraordinary history Frocks, Fashion and Flinders Lane with two online seminars on 14 and 23 March 2021.

The two discussions of Frocks, Fashion and Flinders Lane will feature conversations about the lane's glory days while the second is going to focus on the development of the television series.

Some of the fashion design businesses of Flinders Lane include Prue Acton, Evie Hill, Miss Hartnell, Mr Simon, Ada of California to name a few.

In the first session of Frocks, Fashion and Flinders Lane will present curated interviews from fashion designer Prue Acton, Katherine Pakula whose parents founded Ada of California swimwear company in the early 1950s, Lesley Sharon Rosenthal, author of Schmattes: Stories of Fabulous Frocks, Funky Fashion and Flinders Lane and fashion anthropologist and photographer Tom McEvoy.

Frocks, Fashion and Flinders Lane's second event features a Q&A about the creative development of the television series, Flinders Lane with the creators and writers of the show, Julie Eckersley and Bethany Jones.
